Workshops at Fantasia Fair span a wide range of topics of interest to transgender and gender nonconforming people and their significant others and supporters. If you’re early in your explorations or a seasoned veterans, there are workshops for you. We are always open to suggestions for new topics. Don’t hesitate to contact us.
We’re looking for presentations on personal presentation and grooming (dress, comportment, hair styling, cosmetics), activism, history, identity, relationships, gender theory, terminology, medical issues, skills training, spirituality, philosophy, politics, community, legal or insurance or employment issues, and any other subject of interest and importance to transgender and gender nonconforming people and their family and supporters. Many of our presenters are professionals, but you need no special credentials to be a presenter; your life experience is credential enough for us.
Workshops are scheduled Monday afternoon and mornings and afternoon from Tuesday through Saturday. We run two concurrent sessions; a third session is geared toward relationships and significant others. Workshop slots are 90 minutes, but your workshop need not be that long. You should shoot for about 40 to 50 minutes, but it’s up to you.
Workshop rooms have projectors and electronic screens. You should being your PC, Mac, or Linux laptop or notepad, if possible; of not, please bring along a flash drive containing your presentation. Paper pads are available if you require them.
